Biography

English artist Bill Hayter studied at King’s College London and the Académie Julian in Paris. He is founder of Atelier 17 where many artists such as Picasso and Kandinsky printed their graphics. Between 1940 and 1950, Atelier 17 was based in New York, and great artists such as Pollock and Rothko also worked there. Hayter has developed several new printing techniques. He is counted among the abstract expressionists.
