Biography

The French artist studied at the Ateliers Beaux-Arts Montparnasse in Paris. In the 1940s, Mouly learned to work in the style of Cubism from modernist sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. In 1945, he has an exhibition with Matisse at the Salon d’Automne in Paris. He then befriended Picasso, Chagall and Klein. Mouly’s style is influenced by colors in Matisse’s fauvist works and Picasso’s cubism.
